Cbank’s exchange gold purchases not to change FX, gold forecast
MOSCOW, Oct 19 (PRIME) – Central bank's gold purchases on the Moscow Exchange will not change the regulator’s forecast for foreign exchange and gold reserves, Igor Dmitriyev, head of the central bank’s monetary policy department, told reporters on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the central bank said it will start buying gold on the Moscow Exchange for rubles with tomorrow settlement from November 1 to develop the organized market of precious metals.
“No, it will not (change the forecast for foreign exchange and gold reserves of Russia),” Dmitriyev said. “We will partially replace the purchases we did outside the exchange on it, which means it will not change the general trend,” he said.
